The music is based around the Prelude to Suite I for solo cello by J S Bach (BWV 1007). The cello begins the work and is interrupted by the violin playing a little from Sonata II (BWV 1003), and later from Partita (BWV 1006). The flute plays excerpts from Brandenburg Concerto in G (BWV 1048) and Partita (BWV 1013)

Korean traditional music's rhythmic modes (changdan), pansori vocal techniques (grace notes with accents and glissandi) and modes (pyungyangjo and kyemyunjo), are merged with Western avant-garde compositional techniques (dissonance/consonance and diatonic/chromatic sonorities) whilst samulnori gong-sounds (with their eternal after-tone resonance association to Catholic bells) become symbolic of the spiritual dimension. A traditional Korean changgo drum quietly unfolds, with remembered samulnori percussion ensemble rhythms into an accruing motif momentum towards an explosive early two-handed oneness climax. Its gentle subsiding gives way to a beautiful cello lyric-stasis that floats through the air in Korean modal based sounds.

Trio for Bb Clarinet, Cello, Piano, c.8'0
Inspired by a series of long distance telephone calls, the music, itself, is essentially a number of melodic fragments which are accompanied by varying combinations of instruments which reflect the background noise of other events against which the conversations were held. The music thus contains the underlying ideas of call and response in the melodic fragments. The telephone numbers, themselves, have been used to derive a series of 10 note pitch collections, as well as the form of the piece.
