Jeanell Carrigan

Jeanell Carrigan [piano] was born in Queensland and began her studies at the age of six years. She studied in Australia at the Sydney and Queensland Conservatoire with Nancy Salas, Leah Horwitz and Pamela Page and then in Europe with Alfons Kontarsky and Karl Engel in Germany and Switzerland. She has held positions of employment at the the Hochschulen fur Musik in Stuttgart and Munich, the Universities of Queensland and Melbourne and the Queensland Conservatorium. Jeanell completed a Doctorate of Creative Arts in music performance at the University of Wollongong and presently is Lecturer in Ensemble Studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Jeanell has performed as soloist, chamber musician and accompanist in Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and throughout Australia and has recorded for Bavarian Radio Corporation and the ABC. She has been heralded as one of the 'most sensitive and dextrous pianists to have arrived on the Sydney scene for some time' (Sydney Morning Herald).
