Sutra of Pearls, A

This piece draws its inspiration from a number of sources: traditional Chinese music; techniques of the Japanese shakuhachi; modal writing; twelve tone serialism and a touch of blues. The moderato section is to be played with great fluency, and with due attention to the articulation, harmonics, accents and rhythmic accuracy.
