Duet for flute and computer c.4'40
This composition is designed for solo flute and computer, with the computer screen projected behind the performers. The instructions for the individual performers are all notated within the score.
The composition is an exploration of the merger between acoustic and electronic sounds through the implementation of a patch created in Pure Data, which analyses the incoming signal to create data that is then used to treat the sound of the acoustic flute. http://www.github.com/vgiles/duet_flute (or just to www.vgiles.net - follow the Software part of the menu).
