      This classic English poem, an expression of John Keats’ exploration of love and death, inspired Horace Keats to draw out the innate music from within the poetry using a rich baritone vocal part supported by an engaging orchestral accompaniment.

      La Belle Dame sans Merci, words by John Keats poem, was originally set with the well known baritone Harold Williams in mind and in fact it was broadcast by him and the composer on several occasions over the ABC using the piano rehearsal score. It was also performed by the ABC Orchestra (now SSO).
