This three movement work is based on the triple star system KOI, located in the constellation Cygnus composed of three stars represented by three flutes: KOI-5 A, KOI-5 B and KOI-5 C, orbiting each other at 1,870±70 light-years away. The title comes from the Roman concept of three rulers working together, a Triumvirate,their spheres/orbits overlapping, intertwining and separating simultaneous.

This is a character piece and should be considered in the context of its stylistic Victorian roots. Each of the characters should be mindful of the accent used in delivery.

Although no specific events are portrayed, hopefully the listener can visualise traffic jams, finding somewhere to park, a band playing somewhere, buskers in shop doorways etc. Then perhaps there are little places, possibly a small park where we rest for a while as we gaze up at the tall buildings, and a large crane dominating the skyline on a construction site.
