Commissioned 2019
Most of the piano duets reflect aspects of the Australian landscape. The duets which, range in difficulty, are accessible to the advanced level piano student (grades 7/8 & AMusA). The composer suggests performers sing the 1662 English but apply contemporary context, moving beyond a literal interpretation.The work ebbs and flows between consonance and dissonance, reflecting the drama of the Canticle. Some of the intervals and rhythms may challenge inexperienced singers; aural cues from the piano part and canonic patterns that move from one vocal part to another will help singers to find their way when learning their parts.

SSA choir, string quartet and percussionA mahogany ship, relic or legend, is a thing to stir the imaginations of Australians. It was in 1846 that Captain John Mason of Port Fairy, Victoria, was riding his horse along a beach at Warrnambool, when he sighted a shipwreck. His written account of the incident has led to almost a hundred and fifty years of speculation over its origin and disappearance.
