Nailing Scaling presents an alternative and somewhat holistic approach to the teaching of scales, triads and arpeggios, building and encouraging genuine conceptual understanding of the patterning inherent in the scales around the cycle of fifths and guiding the student to use logic in their approach to fingering.
Ultimately intended as a guide for teachers, Nailing Scaling may also be useful for older, experienced students who would like to take a more proactive role in their approach to these staples of the pianist’s technical repertoire.
Diagrams and Video links throughout the book guide teachers through the process of teaching each new concept.

Three Faces of Addiction. Composed 2014.
The work focuses on the dilemma of addiction. The overriding tragedy of this malady is denial, and the absolute obsession that one day, the sufferer will gain control over their problem. The insanity of doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result, is at the core of addiction. To illustrate this the composer has deliberately stayed in the home key throughout the entire work, to emphasise this aspect of addiction and create a “tragic soundscape”.
Conductor's score includes a CD of the work performed by The Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra.
