Crimson Rosella - fortepiano armonica

Fortepiano and glass armonica…and can be played with alternative instrumentations such as harpsichord, piano with vibraphone or keyboard using vibraphone sound, c.3'30. Advanced level of difficulty.

The melody and harmonies date back to a tiny snippet of music I wrote many years ago as a brief nostalgic waltz (which formed an interlude in a longer work) and which I have now expanded in this piece, retaining the nostalgic mood. The title is the same as the two harpsichord work and is named in honour of one of Australia’s most spectacular and beautiful birds.  Composed 2018
